Statewide Coalition Association Celebrates 10 Years of Providing Support to Long Term Living Participants
HARRISURG, May 15, 2018—The Pennsylvania Association of Home and Community Based Services Providers (“PA HCBS”), an association of community providers of long term living services, will be hosting a formal dinner to commemorate one decade of supporting organizations that service more than 40,000 seniors and adults with disabilities. Organized as a coalition in 1994 and founded in 2008, PA HCBS promotes quality home and community-based services, is an advocate and direct resource for providers serving participants within the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Office of Long Term Living.
PA HCBS distinguishes itself from similar organizations in that its member base is comprised of providers of varying types rather than solely one service type; this is truly a coalition in every sense of the word. Members range from those within the realm of Support Coordination, Personal Assistance Services, Housing Assistance to Skilled Home Care and more. The event is being held Wednesday, June 6th from 4pm to 10pm at the Hilton Harrisburg and attendees will range from members to State agency representatives. The celebration is an opportunity to give back to its members while also recognizing Participants and Direct Care Workers.
Among many of the notable Award Presenters are the Honorable Secretary of Aging Teresa Osborne along with the Honorable Deputy Secretary of the Office of Long Term Living, Kevin Hancock. Evan Forrester, Fox 43 News Anchor, will be the Emcee for the evening, while Martha Roherty, Executive Director of NASUAD will serve as Key Note Speaker. Awards will range from Participant Education to Home and Community Based Service Excellence. A special announcement will be made during opening remarks sure to be monumental to its members.
